We are so grateful that you are interested in supporting refugees and welcoming this family to Wilmington! CWS is not able to direct funds in this particular way. But we hope you will consider one of these 3 alternatives:

1. Give directly to the family you have developed a relationship with to help them with their basic needs,
2. Form a community sponsorship team and provide financial assistance and volunteer support to a family with whom CWS will match you, or
3. Make a gift to CWS so that we can use your generous gift for direct financial assistance support for our most vulnerable clients. [Simply write “For client direct financial assistance where most needed” in the comment line on the giving form.]

CWS serves hundreds of families each year with diverse needs. Thank you for understanding our commitment to creating fair and transparent processes for supporting each of them, and prioritizing the most vulnerable.

Transportation access is critical for financial stability, so thank you for considering such a generous gift. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to facilitate car donations to clients. We are grateful for partners like Wheels 4 Hope who have systems and processes in place to do this well! Each year, CWS clients benefit from this local resource.

Before families arrive, we work diligently to ensure their homes are warm and welcoming. Essential items make a world of difference after long travels, and your generosity can help us provide a comfortable start.
